This 4-year-old Chihuahua mix has been through a lot, but you’d never know it from her confident and loving personality! Rescued from a kill shelter in California after being hit by a car, Sweet Pea has fully healed and is ready to find her perfect home.?

She bonds quickly with her people, loves to cuddle, and will happily give kisses—but she also enjoys her independence and isn’t overly demanding. While she adores being a lap dog at times, she’s not one to constantly beg for attention. Sweet Pea is a little territorial of her favorite humans and will politely tell other dogs or people to back off, so she would do best in a home without young children or other four legged friends.

She does well in a kennel, is housebroken, and will use potty pads if provided. Sweet Pea has a medium-to-high energy level and enjoys staying active—though she’s not quite ready for long hikes just yet. She loves toys and is especially curious about wildlife!
