Meet Suzie
** If you are interested in adopting Suzie, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ **
Suzie's engaging and sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated.
Suzie is coming to Farfel's Rescue from a high-kill shelter in Houston, TX.
Suzie is around 4 and a half years old (as per the vets) and she is 35 lbs. She is believed to be a Wheaten Terrier / Schnauzer mix.
The following is from Suzie's foster:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Suzie is such a sweet, cuddly girl. She gives lots of kisses and is just a total lover.
She’s a great dog. Truly. Easy, pleasant, healthy, loving, but calm and willing just to hang out. She loves walks. Does better in a harness than a collar.
She’s a really good girl. Totally house trained, rides well in the car, loves walks. Will snuggle or just hang out.
All in all, Suzie is the best scruffy girl, treat motivated and just happy and sweet as she can be, great head tilt too! "
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Suzie would be a wonderful companion for an individual, a family, or active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with this irresistible pup that's beautiful both inside and out. Suzie's nature is to be a very happy girl who represents the joyful attitude of both her breeds.
Suzie will do well with any loving guardian who's invested in spending time with their pup. She's so pleasant and portable that she can be a part of any adventure. It can be a leisurely walk socializing with neighbors, a picnic in the park or a visit with family or friends. At day's end, a spot on, or beside the bed all night next to her favorite humans will speak to the loving nature of this little dog.
We'd like to place Suzie in a home where she'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area.
Suzie has been fully vetted, is up to date on her vaccines, and is spayed.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
