NYC Area -- Meet Sumi!

Remember that time in middle school? That time when everyone was a little socially awkward trying to figure out who they are and how they stand? If you remember this, then you know how hard it can be sometimes when adjusting to so many new things. Sweet little Sumi is the embodiment of that middle school self looking to find her forever home so she can help learn to be the best she can be, gain confidence and grow into a mature, adult pupper.

Sumi is a shy little girl who has little spurts of social energy. She loves giving kisses, nibbling on toes, sleeves and ears, and is slowly learning the joys of going on adventures throughout NYC. Sumi is about 5 months old and 8lbs. Her mama is only around 20lbs so Sumi will most likely be 20-25lbs full grown.

Sumi, her mom and siblings were all rescued from the Gwangju Dog Meat Farm that we helped shut down but despite this background, Sumi is trusting humans more and more every day. She still likes having her me time in her crate and is working on those crazy things we call stairs and potting on sidewalks but she is doing amazing with pee pad training and is mimicking her foster siblings more and more the longer she is in foster care. She is a smart little cookie who will thrive in a home with lots of training and socialization with humans and other doggies (she would probably be the top of her class in puppy kindergarten because she is such a smart little cookie).

Sumi would do best in a quieter home and would benefit from some extra exercise, socialization, and boundaries (she doesn't respond well to coddling or "babying"). If you are ready for a little project puppy who will never cease to surprise you and make you proud, look no further!

We require a completed application, reference check, & home check. An adoption fee applies. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Due to the volume of emails received we are unable to answer specific questions via email. Thank you!

BE ADVISED: Korean K9 Rescue does local adoptions in NYC only. Out-of-state/non-local adoptions are rare and are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us in advance to confirm if you are eligible/if the specific dog can be adopted outside of NYC. We also do not do same-day adoptions NOR do we select adopters on a "first-come, first-served" basis. We thoroughly review all applications/check references after each event and THEN determine which adopters are the best match for each dog. After selecting who we feel is the best fit, we notify you by phone/email to arrange for a time to conduct a home visit and finalize the adoption. That might be the same evening or in the days that follow the event. Thank you for your support and patience.
