Picture this: piercing amber eyes outlined by always-ready-to-go smokey eye, all natural. My sleek fox-brown coat gleams in the sunlight, showing off my slim athletic silhouette and long legs. If you pictured that correctly, you probably saw me, Stratus! I am a stunning german shepherd mix with a personality as versatile as the clouds in the sky! Although I love me some play time with people and dogs, I also love my downtime cozied up next to you or my fur sibling! I am pretty medium-leveled energy so I am flexible with what you want to do in our day to day life!
I came to Last Stop Rescue from Georgia several months ago. Eventually I got myself picked up by animal control. The city shelter was nice–I got all the food I could eat! I enjoyed the brief respite – a safe place where the bowls were filled. Rested and with a full stomach I was ready to go home but the familiar face of my human never returned. After weeks of waiting and whispers about my time running out, a group of kind souls took me and my 9 shelter pals on a loooong drive to Chicago.
Being in Chicago has brought out the best in me! I am a social dude with people and dogs and am very good on my leash (but I can’t say I started out that way). Thanks to my foster mom, I now am a gentleman on my leash!
Being a german shepherd mix, I am one smart cookie! I would thrive from a home who continues to progress my training and puts my brain to use by stimulating me physically and mentally!
If you're in search of a companion with a heart as vast as the skies, a loyal friend ready to share love, laughter, and a lifetime of adventures, I'm your pup. Let's create a forever story together, where the love I give overflows and is joyfully returned by the humans who become my cherished family.

We treat these dogs as individuals with needs and to that end all of our dogs will have been in fosters no less than two weeks, they will have at least started training if not attend weekly classes and get daily training at home with the fosters!
Which means our longest residents will be the best trained, as long as they're with us we're going to keep socializing and working through any issues they may have.
When you adopt from us you will have a very clear picture of the dog you're meeting and on going support!
Our Fees are as follows:
Senior dogs over 7 are $450
Adult dogs are $650
Puppies under 1 year are $800
Specific breeds are $900
With each adoption you will be...
1. Given up to four hours of free training (from the foster and coordinator),
a. Some dogs require additional free training hours before they can go home.
2. Full medical report of all findings,
3. All of the supplies needed for a new dog as we attain these for the care of each dog,
4. A full run down on their behavioral status, where they started, where they are and how far is left to go. This will be detailed in a training plan from us about what they can or cannot handle well and it will be discussed as much as needed!
5. On going support post adoption as long as needed!
We fully vet all of our dogs which is reflected in our adoption fee. On average we will pay about 600 dollars in medical per dog. Every dog gets a full blood panel, fecal/urine check, heartworm & tick panel and treatment if required, spayed/neutered, all shots and boosters, along with anything specific to their needs.
