Meet Stewie-Adopted!
One of Home Furever’s volunteers found Stewie and his gal pal, Elsa, roaming the streets of Detroit. Turns out Elsa was pregnant (surprise, surprise) and Stewie was Heartworm positive. Well Elsa had her seven puppies (none looked like Stewie) and her puppies are now available for adoption.
Stewie finished his heartworm treatment and now is looking for a foster or forever home. His temporary foster often travels on business and cannot commit to long-term fostering.
Stewie is a very affectionate guy and he loves all people of all ages! He is an energetic dog when playing but calms right down when it’s time to cuddle and snuggle. Belly rubs are his absolute favorite. Stewie loves being the center of attention and has a sweet and funny side to him. He makes his foster mom laugh just about every day.
Stewie gets a little excited when he meets new dogs and his handler needs to be aware and in control. A little training will give him the confidence he needs to calmly interact with new dogs. He enjoys playing with dogs he is is familiar with. He is good with children of all ages. He hasn’t been around cats that we are aware of.
Stewie is perfectly content going in his crate and will quickly settle onto his comfy bed.
Stewie is approximately 2-3 years old and is a nearly perfect LOVE BUG!

Home FurEver is a non-profit foster based canine rescue seeking foster parents, volunteers and donations. Please see our website for more information.
Please note that Home FurEver does not post applications on line. We will receive all applications in person at local adoption events in order to conduct an in-person interview. All members of the household should be present for the application and interview process. All applicants require a home inspection and vet check - Please note that we cannot drive more than an hour to do a home inspection. We do require a fenced back yard for all bully breeds. Some dogs may require households with children over a certain age.
Ask yourself some questions before you consider bringing a new dog home. 1. Am I ready for a LIFE LONG commitment? 2. Am I prepared for a rowdy puppy? 3. Am I prepared to potty train? 4. Is this the right breed for me or my family? 5. Can I afford the food and vet care for this dog? 6. Is it best to have a totally fenced yard? 7. Will I make a commitment to obedience training?
