Meet Stanley (A320623) – The Sweet and Goofy Boy Who Needs a Little Patience!
Stanley is a lovable Staffordshire Terrier who came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about his past. We estimate he’s around 2-3 years old, and he’s a sweet, goofy boy with a heart full of affection. Stanley enjoys attention and will happily lean on his handler for love and pets. He also loves rope toys, so he’s always ready for some fun playtime! Stanley hasn't met any other dogs at the shelter yet, but he shows very friendly, playful body language when he sees them through the fence.

Stanley does keep a clean kennel, which makes us think he may be housebroken. However, one important thing to note is that Stanley has likely never been walked on a leash before. When removed from his kennel, he tends to bite and pull on the leash. While he means no harm, this behavior could potentially result in nipping. Staff and volunteers have been working with him on leash training, always using two people and two leashes to help guide him. Although he still has a way to go, once he’s in the play yard, Stanley’s playful and affectionate side really shines through.

Stanley will need a patient adopter who’s willing to continue working with him on leash training. With consistency and love, we’re confident he’ll continue to improve and become the well-behaved companion he’s meant to be.
