Meet Squirrel. Squirrel is around 7 years old and 9lbs, he seems to be housebroken, no accidents in the house in three weeks and has used pee pads when left alone during the day. He found himself with Pet Helpers after his owner had to go live with family and was unable to take him with her. Squirrel is looking for a very special home as he seems to be scared of human touch and loud noises and seems to prefer women to men. He needs someone home a lot that has plenty of patience. He will follow you from room to room but don't make eye contact for too long and don't walk towards him, he darts the other way. Squirrel will require a home with another small dog to help him adjust and settle in. He gets along fabulously with the other small dogs in his foster home. He loves to carry around small toys. Due to his tendency to run from people he will require a home with a fenced in yard and no children. Squirrel is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and flea treated. He did test positive for Lyme disease and is finishing up medication for that. Adoption Fees:

PUPPIES (under 1 year) $250.00, Includes spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, age appropriate vaccines, heartworm/lyme test (if applicable), two rounds of dewormer, one round of flea medicine and microchip.

ADULT DOGS (over 1 year) $225.00, Includes spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, first set of routine yearly vaccines, heartworm/lyme test, two rounds of dewormer, one round of flea medication, and Microchip.

KITTENS AND CATS
$100.00, Includes spay or neuter, vaccine according to their age, two rounds of dewormer, one round of flea medication, felv/fiv test, and microchip.

Pet Helpers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foster based volunteer rescue located in Fairmont, WV. We do adopt out of state to approved applicants, if you are willing to drive to WV to pick up your pet. We do not fly or use transport companies. Our adoption fee is $150.00 for mixed breed puppies and adult dogs, $225.00 for full blooded puppies and adult dogs and $50.00 for cats and kittens. Regardless if the animal is a mixed breed or full blooded they are spayed/neutered prior to adoption IF they are old enough. If they are too young at the time of adoption, then it is your financial responsibility to spay/neuter the pet by the age of 6 months and you must provide proof for our files that it has been done. All of our pets are checked by a vet, given the shots appropriate for their age and any other treatment deemed necessary by the vet. All of our pets are adopted as indoor pets and are not be outdoors tied to a box 24/7. The pet you are adopting has been living in a home with a foster family. You are expected to take possession of the pet you are applying for within a few days of application approval. This will enable us to accept another pet into that home. Because we are a rescue, and believe that spaying and neutering is crucial in stopping the reproduction of unwanted puppies/kittens and massive amounts of animals dying daily in shelters across the country, we expect any animal already in your home to be spayed/neutered. If for any reason you are unable to keep the pet you have adopted you are required to return them to Pet Helpers, Inc. They are not to be sold or given away.
