ABOUT: Meet Splinter: The Resilient, Goofy, Adventure-Seeking Lovebug

Looking for a dog that’s equal parts athlete, comedian, and survivor? Meet Splinter, a 1-year-old Pit Bull mix (with a hint of Greyhound, maybe some Border Collie or Cattle Dog, and 100% heart). This 40lb lanky pup has been through a lot, but he’s ready to find the forever home he’s been dreaming of.

Splinter’s Story: Once upon a time, little Splinter survived a scary dog attack as a puppy, leaving him with some badass battle scars that make him look like he’s seen some things (because he has). He’s got a 4” white scar on his rib cage and a missing chunk of skull near his left ear—but don’t worry, he’s still ridiculously cute, just with an extra sprinkle of character.

Why You’ll Love Him:

1. Crate Trained & Potty Trained– He’ll ask to go outside but may do a little excited tinkle when he meets you (he just wants to impress you, okay?)

2. Dog-Friendly (with a proper introduction) – He likes having dog friends but needs time to settle in.

3. Kid Potential – With training, he’d make a great adventure buddy for an active family!

4. Loves Water– But… will absolutely try to swim away into the abyss if not leashed. (Ask about the Willamette River incident.)

5. Cuddle King– He will snuggle his way into your heart and your bed.

6. Survivor’s Spirit – This dog has been through a lot, and he still just wants to love and be loved.

Work in Progress:
1. Leash Training Needed – Best with a no-pull harness for now.
2. Food Anxiety– If other dogs are around, he prefers a safe eating space. Solo? He’ll chow down just fine!
3. Cat Chasing Tendencies – He means well but needs help learning that cats are not squeaky toys.
4. Needs a Safe, Loving Home– With a yard or someone committed to regular outdoor time.

This lovable goofball has been shuffled around too much and is so ready for a stable, loving home. If you’re patient, active, and willing to help this sweet boy thrive, he will be your most loyal companion. Are you ready to give Splinter the life he deserves? Apply here: www.BAPBR.org
