Spirit Sunday!!!
10-7-22: She was confiscated from a dog fighting ring and taken to the shelter. She was given a number for her name.
11-29-22: Owner surrendered all dogs confiscated over to shelter.
12-10-22: I said she would be mine and named her “Spirit”
12-17-22: Spirit arrived in Wisconsin and she started the first day of her new life.
This beautiful soul is amazing. Spirit’s tail remains tucked but at times out of the corner of my eye I see a tail wag. She loves to be spoken too. I feel she missed out on thoughtful conversation for 2 years of her life so she rejoices at being considered a living, breathing thing. So I have been telling her how I fell in love with her and what I expect her new life to look like. I tell her she is perfect and I have patience & time.
Spirit loves her bed. I can only imagine how excited she must be to not lay on a cold, hard ground. She loves being warm and she wears her winter coat proudly when she goes outside to the bathroom. She loves her full belly and the treats. She loves pets. She is unsure when my hand first touches her but relaxes when it is soft caresses.
A dog wants love, a full belly, a soft place to sleep, warmth, and stories.

All Ma, Paws & Me Pet Rescue dogs are in homes with foster families; we do not have a shelter where dogs are available for daily viewing.
Our process is as follows:
1. Review our policies and adoption radius on our website: http://mapawsmepetrescue.com/adopt/
2. Submit an application for review and approval;
3. MPM Rescue reviews application and checks vet records and references;
4. MPM foster contacts approved applicant(s) to arrange a home check and meeting with available dog(s);
5. If there is a good fit, adoption is completed with a contract and fees (payable via check or cash).

Dogs from Ma, Paws & Me Pet Rescue come with the following medical care already provided:
- Spay/Neuter surgery
- Age appropriate vaccinations
- Heartworm test (for dogs over 6mo) and treatment if positive
- Microchip
- Deworming
- Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative
- Any other necessary medical treatment as recommended by veterinarian
