Hey there, I'm Sokka! I'm so happy you stopped to learn a little more about me.

I came to Wayside after a kind person found me wandering the streets of Kansas City alone. They knew that wasn't a safe space for me so they brought me to Wayside where I've been learning what it's like to feel safe, have my own space, and be with humans who genuinely care about me.

Since coming to Wayside, my two-legged human friends have learned a lot about me. They've learned that my two favorite things are treats and tennis balls! I also LOVE to get attention from them and am a big people pup. I love to get pets and scratches! So much so that sometimes I become a little too excited and may jump up in an attempt to give you a hug for showing me all the love. I'll do best in a home where I can have some structure and continue to learn new tricks and manners. I will do anything for a treat so I am definitely motivated to learn more! Since I do jump some, Wayside recommends that I meet everyone in my forever family's home if they are under 9 years old.
My friends at Wayside will tell you I work really hard to keep my space clean and wait for the kind staff and volunteers to take me outside before doing my business. While not much is known about my prior life, it is apparent I have worked hard to be housetrained!
As I mentioned before, I love humans so much but I need to meet dogs so I know I would get along with them!

I wake up every day hoping this is the day my furever people will walk through the Wayside doors and ask to meet me. I hope that person could be you!

ADOPTION INFORMATION: All Wayside Waifs pets are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations prior to adoption. Please note that in order to make the best match possible, potential adopters must come to the Wayside Waifs in person to meet with an adoption counselor and complete the adoption process. All members of the household (including other pets, if possible) should be present to ensure the chosen pet is compatible with everyone. We do not place holds or do adoptions over the phone and we do not ship pets.
