Smurfette (Spayed) (In Foster to Adopt) Labrador Retriever Marietta, OH

Smurfette is a lovely 4-year old female Labrador Retriever mix who was brought to the HSOV on May 3, 2024 by a Good Samaritan who found her on State Route 7 in the Reno Ohio area along with none other than Papa Smurf (a small male Miniature Pinscher). Neither of the pair were wearing a collar. Papa Smurf was microchipped but, unfortunately, the microchip was not registered.

Smurfette has a black short smooth coat with unique white markings on her chest/throat, white paws, a long tail, and a beautiful face with dark brown soulful eyes, a dusting on white on her muzzle, and large floppy ears.

This little sweetheart has a rather demure, affectionate personality.

Thanks to HSOV Volunteer Tracy Lynn for accompanying Smurfette for outdoor glamour photos on the afternoon of May 4th 2024 and for showering Smurfette with extra lovings. Smurfette looked to Tracy for self confidence and guidance, and she loved hearing 'what a good girl she was' and 'what a good job she did posing for her pictures'.

Smurfette weighs 51 lbs. She doesn't appear to have been accustomed to walking on a leash, but she did herself proud and took 'baby steps' to walk beside Tracy.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Smurfette will be held for three days so that her family will have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership.

Since she was not reclaimed, Smurfette went home with a foster family on May 15, 2024 who plans to adopt her after she is spayed.

UPDATE: Smurfette was officially adopted by her foster family on August 23, 2024 after she was spayed.
