Senior Hearts Rescue and Renewal is the only licensed senior dog rescue organization in Western Pennsylvania. We do not have a shelter or a public facility. ALL of our dogs reside in foster homes in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area.

We are a 100% volunteer organization. Please respect our volunteers' time. If a dog is listed on PetFinder, he/she IS available for adoption. We cannot reply to messages, phone calls, and emails about a dog until we have received, reviewed, and approved an adoption application.

Completing this application is the first step in our adoption screening process. You MUST complete the application in its entirety in order to be considered as a potential adopter. And now a few words from Smokey:

I am 12 years young and weigh about 7 pounds. I think my ears weigh 5 of those pounds.

I'm an active little guy who super enjoys being outside. I like going on walks. If you had a fenced yard, I'd be running and sniffing in it.

I'm a friendly little dude. I don't mind being held, cuddled, and pet. But remember, I do like to get my fresh air and exercise. I like other dogs as long as they aren't big or very hyper. I don't appreciate dogs running up into my face.

Speaking of that, I can only see out of one of my eyes. It doesn't bother me, so it shouldn't bother you. Don't worry, its not glaucoma or anything like that. My doctors checked it out to make sure. Because I can only see out of one eye, it would be best if I didn't attempt to do stairs. I could have a tumble. I'm only 7 pounds, so I'm sure you could carry me up and down stairs. That would give us extra cuddle time.

I have good manners. I am housetrained and crate trained. Yay for me and you both!
