SKIPPER Rat Terrier Mix Santa Cruz, CA

Meet Skipper! -7 year old male rat terrier -Came to the Shelter as a stray -Staff have observed that he is amiable and easy going in personality Currently in a foster home with a dog savvy person and their resident female dog. Foster parent has observed that Skipper is sweet and calm in the home. He is neutral meeting strangers - saying hi then exploring the environment. After meeting the resident dog and the novelty wearing off, Skipper is coexisting nicely. The resident kitties are too fun to chase so a feline free home is recommended. Skipper loves head massages and going for walks. Despite his age - he has a good pace for someone looking for a walking buddy. With adequate potty breaks and management - Skipper is on his way to being house trained. He has met strangers - from children to elderly and has done well. Skipper is not interested in playing with toys and much prefers to go on sniffaris. Now through December 23rd the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is hosting Home for the Holidays. This adoption event reduces the adoption fee for all cats, rabbits and dogs to $50. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locations Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end meet and greets (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
