Skipper came into the shelter as a stray and it's still a mystery that no one claimed him - he is one great little dog! He's probably around 4 years old, friendly, happy, very smart and quick to learn, obedient, walks great on a leash and gets along well with other dogs of all sizes. This guy has personality plus and has never met a stranger - he'd be a great addition to any home. Skipper is neutered, microchipped, current on all shots, housetrained, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative. All the dogs in the program spent time in our local animal shelter waiting for their owners to redeem them or to be adopted. Many were scheduled for euthanasia prior to being placed in our program. The selected dogs are brought current on vaccinations, spayed/neutered if necessary, microchipped and heartworm tested. They are then taken to the California Correctional Center where they are each assigned to a trainer/inmate fire fighter. The trainers give these dogs the extra time, love and attention they need to become wonderful family companions. Most graduates are housetrained and know basic obedience commands. There are now 284 families who are happy to have adopted a Pups on Parole dog.
