Meet Siren
Sweet Siren is looking for his forever family, and wants his new people to know these 10 things about him:
1) I am a Cane Corso with natural ears and I am about 3 years old.
2) I used to have a family. They didn’t take very good care of me, and they didn’t do a great job of keeping me contained in their yard, so I ended up at the shelter on more than one occasion. The last time I was picked up as a stray, my owners came to visit me at animal control, and I thought for sure that we would be leaving together like always, but I was wrong. I cried and barked but they just walked away and left me in that loud, scary place.
3) Despite my sad experience, I am still a loving boy that wants to engage with humans. Like most dogs of my breed, I can be slow to warm up to strangers, but once I’ve had the opportunity to get to know you, I am a total lover.
4) I think I would do well in a home with children over 12, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious and had some previous experience/training with big dogs.
5) I’m not sure how I feel about other big dogs. I think that I like them, but sometimes when I’m interacting I make noises that sound scary and might be interpreted as aggressive to my canine companions. If my new family had an extra-large and very mellow female, I believe we could live together after a very slow introduction, but I also wouldn’t mind being the only dog in the house.
6) Even though I haven’t had the opportunity to interact with cats or small and medium sized canines while I’ve been at The Bullpen, I don’t feel like I should live in a home with them.
7) The words that best describe me are sweet, silly, and affectionate.
8) My favorite things to do are exploring the yard, sunbathing, and taking naps.
9) All things considered, my doggy manners are excellent. I am housebroken and crate trained, I know basic obedience and how to use a dog door, and I am pretty good on a leash.
10. I am fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped.
Ready to give Siren the forever home of his dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at http://www.bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab.
We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation.
Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-served basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.
