7/19/24-Sir Fluffernutter was neutered on Monday and is recovering! He's figured out how to navigate around with his cone and is starting to feel back to his normal peppy happy boy. He is still looking for his forever family and loves kids and other dogs. He enjoys sporting events, but prefers the action of soccer over baseball! LOL He is the happiest boy ever. He had had diarrhea since his neuter, most likely due to the pain meds he was on. So now he is on a bland diet until 2-3 days after the diarrhea stops, and we are getting some FortFlora Probiotic from the vet too. Fluff deserves his own family & will be ready to go home very soon.

7/8/24-Things are still trucking along here with Fluffernutter. His house training is improving, he's still having 2-3 accidents a day but we've been able to stretch his time between going outside to potty to about an hour. Fluffernutter met a tiny old Yorkie and desperately wanted to play with him, but no love haha.
Most nights Fluffernutter is sleeping all night, and he knows the morning routine in his sleep! Wake up, right outside to potty and run around while I make coffee, and as soon as he comes back inside he knows it's breakfast time so he hauls booty to his crate and waits. The boy loves food! His neuter is next Monday, so he will be ready for a new home shortly after that.

6/28/24-Fluffernutter had his pre neuter vet appointment today & did very well. His bloodwork came back normal, but his is cryptorchid which means 1 testicle didn’t drop, so his neuter will be more involved. Due to vet backups his neuter is not until Monday 7/15 & then he will be ready to go home! We also determined since he is the same weight as he came in he probably will only be about 30 lbs full size. The perfect size!

6/27/24-Fluffernutter's pre-op appointment is tomorrow, so he had a spa day. I love having clean dogs to bring to the vet! He still needs his nails done but the shampoo, conditioner, and blow out was a success thanks to the lick mat! I didn't blow dry him all the way since I was only using my home hairdryer on cool.

6/23/24-Not much new here in Fluff land. He's discovered a love of sweet peppers and ice cubes. He CANNOT have dairy (bad news bears for his tummy). Fluffernutter didn't really appreciate the heat and humidity we had over the last week, he didn't even want to snuggle because he was too warm. We've cracked down on the house training and are taking him out every half hour. It's greatly reduced his accidents. He isn't always willing to "go outside, potty" but he gets it done. Sir Fluffernutter has his neuter pre-op appointment this Friday 6/28 so we should have his date for neutering then. Once he is neutered he will be ready to go home.

6/16/24-Sir Fluffernutter is doing well! He has learned a couple of new things, "sit", "up" (for getting into the car), "sit pretty" and his name. We are working on his leash walking because this boy was apparently born to be a sled dog haha. He will walk next to me very nicely when there is food or a treat involved. House training is coming along slowly but surely, it will still need to be worked on and reinforced once he's adopted. He let me brush him some today with the distraction of a lick mat. He still wasn't so sure about the brush at first! He's let me trim the nails on his front paws and clean up the fur on the bottom of his feet. Macha and Fluffernutter had a play date with the neighbor dog in their yard and had a good time. He is so wonderful & bonus-no fear of thunderstorms! He's also learned the noise of the ice dispenser and comes RUNNING! Lol

6/09/24-Fluffernutter continues to be a joy and delight. He is a very fun foster, just loves everyone, and everyone he's met loves him! We've had some house training setbacks but he seems to be a smart pup so I'm sure he will improve. Fluffernutter is a happy little guy, and is absolutely hilarious even when he's being a mischievous puppy! He is incredibly food motivated so will be easy to obedience train. He learned "sit" in only two days! He does need a moderate amount of exercise every day, more than just going out in the yard, so someone that can give him a couple of 20-30 minute walks a day would be a good fit. He's starting to sleep all night in his crate which is wonderful. The only times he actually barks is when he's in the crate, he doesn't really love missing out on things haha, but he does settle within 10-15 minutes. We can’t believe he is still waiting for his new home!

6/2/24-This boy is so ridonkulous ? from life at a “commercial breeder” to living it up on a couch. Sweet, calm, easygoing, friendly, but still has his crazy puppy moments. He loves being around people and other dogs. Scared of Velcro(LOL), wary of the vacuum. Getting better about having his face and feet touched, but definitely not ready to be brushed yet (brush is terrifying). Loves peanut butter, fake eats carrots. Fluffernutter is such a snuggler. He’s always up for a good cuddle session.

6/1/24-Sir Fluffernutter is such a wonderful puppy! He is a happy guy, loves snuggles, walks, meeting new people and dogs, and is just enjoying what life has to offer. I’ve been taking him to my son’s soccer and baseball games and while he does get a little bored, he is not barky or disruptive. Everyone that meets him has commented on how calm he is for being only 5 months old. Fluff loves running around, though being a short lil guy he would probably not be suitable as a running partner unless you’re a slow runner. LOL We are working on house training and he is on a strict pottying schedule which is helping reduce accidents. He’s getting more used to being in the crate at night, he does protest for 10-15 minutes still but has been sleeping from 8:30-4 pretty regularly, then needs a pee and goes back to bed till 7am. He likes to hoard toys in his crate which is pretty cute. He should be easy to obedience train, too, since this boy LOVES food. We can’t believe no one has snatched him up yet!

5/25/24-(Sir) Fluffernutter hasarrived! I think I picked the perfect name for him because he’s white with a little bit of brown around his eyes, very very light brown ears, and a little bit of a very very light brown spot at the base of his tail. My 13 year old doesn’t want to put him down. Lol He has the tiniest bit of an underbite, which makes him even more adorable. He met my next door neighbor ‘s 3-year-old child and thought she smelled very good. At his temp foster home they said at night he would look at his reflection in their windows and do a dance of excitement that there was another American Eskimo pup on the other side lol! He was fine with their cats too. He is an excellent car rider. He LOVES KIDS of all sizes so far, from a 17 month old and up. He likes stuffed toys with no squeaky. He is enjoying running around and playing with our Boxer. He’s eating and drinking well, and has been 80% successful with timed potty breaks. He was left crated for about two and a half hours today and after some initial protests, he was quiet. He’s a sweet, sweet, happy little puppy and will do well in just about any family. Right now we are snuggling together and he’s working on falling asleep. He’s going to go fast, so if you’re interested apply now!

5/24/24-We picked up this cutie during Freedom Thursday last night! He is so much fun, eats, drinks and loves the outside. His foster named him Sir Fluffernutter and he will be heading to her house tomorrow. He is a handsome boy!!

05/23/24-Sir Fluffernutter is a 5 month old standard sized American Eskimo from a commercial breeder as he just got too old to sell. He arrived tonight along with his smaller brother Duke Ellington thanks to his transport volunteers. We estimate Fluffernutter will about 40 lbs full grown.
