Simba is a beautiful and energetic 9 month old Shep/lab mix. He loves to play and toys are a big hit with this beauty. Tossing them and running around with them in his mouth. He is a bit excited on lead but after some play time he does calm down nicely. When we first brought out Simba he was nervous and a little standoffish but boy does he warm up to an affectionate and interactive pup. He is a little reserved with strangers but he doesn’t view many people as a stranger for long. Some TLC and socializing with people and he will be a gem. Simba had no idea what hotdogs were but he took our frozen canned dog food from our fingers nicely. He had no issues sharing his food bowl and is great with other dogs his size. He liked darting around at the pigeons so he has a little prey drive for small animals. So no cats please.

The Society cannot accept personal checks but we do accept Visa, MC, AE, Discover and cash. As part of our adoption process, we must have proof of residency. Homeowners must show proof of ownership; landlord approval is required for renters before an adoption can be approved..Attention rescues: The Newark shelter is very rescue-friendly. THE SOCIETY OFFERS FREE DVDs ON ALL CAT & DOG ADOPTIONS
With each adoption, the Society will present a DVD on TRAINING YOUR DOG or YOUR ADOPTED CAT at no charge. The dog video will include problems with chewing, jumping, mouthing, etc., but who trains a cat? There are $300 worth of free coupons offered with the dog video and $100 in free coupons for each cat adopter.
