SHADOW Chihuahua & Pit Bull Terrier Mix Cadiz, OH

Last December, SHADOW, a 1 year old Pitbull/Chihuahua mix was brought to the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH by his owner who said he found him. At thatHar time, he was good with kids, cats and dogs. He was adopted by a family with a cat and neutered soon after. He was surrendered back to the pound the other day because his family said that since his neuter in January, he no longer likes cats. He’s good with older kids, but little kids scare him. The morning of the day SHADOW came back to the pound, we were told he growled at his owner and showed his teeth. We held off posting him for adoption to watch his behavior. Here’s what we know about SHADOW. He weighs all of 30 lbs and he definitely has little dog syndrome. He has an identity crisis because SHADOW thinks he’s much much bigger than he is, but 2 little Yorkie/Chi mixes who weigh 11 lbs scared him silly and sent him running for cover with his hair standing up and his tail tucked so far between his legs, he looked like he’d lost it. SHADOW has a lot to say, especially when he doesn’t know you. We noticed that if you sit down to get to know him instead of towering above him, he feels much more at ease. If SHADOW was your human child, he’d be the class clown and you’d probably be on a first name basis with his school’s principal because SHADOW would be in detention on occasion for being the jokester. Maybe a little more often than occasionally. This boy has so much personality packed in that little bod. He runs and plays, and can spend a lot of time throwing toys around. He loves to go for walks and he’s a cuddler. SHADOW is fully vetted and housebroken. A meetngreet will be necessary if you have a dog. He will not be placed in a home with small kids or cats, just incase. If you’re looking for live entertainment without leaving home, SHADOW fits the bill.
