Meet Serena (aka Little Lilly)!
Serena (aka Little Lilly) ended up at the shelter with several other housemates. All were very shy, but super sweet. She has come along way in the months since she was rescued. She is looking for a home within an hour from Roseville,
Here is what her fosterhome has to say about her:
Serena is a sweet, playful, affectionate, young 50lb Shepherd mix (estimated dob 1/2020). She would do best in a home with kids over 14.
Serena becomes quite bonded to her people and prefers their company over other dogs. Although she does fine with other dogs she does not engage in a lot of playtime with other dogs. She likes going on walks, exploring in the yard and playing in the water. She is currently being trained to ride on a paddle board and seems to be enjoying that. She absolutely loves to play ball and brings the ball back.
Serena can be shy/timid when she meets new people but has shown she will warm up with slow, gentle introductions and treats. Once Serena is comfortable and trusts someone she is silly, happy, playful and affectionate.
Serena is trainable, smart and responsive. She responds well to gentle, positive training. Serena is crate trained, housebroken in her foster home and walks politely on a leash. She currently lives with several dogs of all sizes and does well with them. She likely would not flourish with an overly dominant dog. She currently lives with dog savvy cats and is friendly and respectful with them.
Serena enjoys a yard and is an alert barker so no apartments for her. Young children would likely overwhelm her so an adult only home is recommended. She would do best in a home with a family who would enjoy playing ball with her and taking her for walks. A person who has the time patience and willingness to allow Serena some time to settle in, feel comfortable in a new home and routine would be ideal. She would enjoy being the center of someone’s life and is a sweet, loyal companion.
Serena is a very sweet dog who is an absolute joy to foster. She is a special girl who is waiting for her forever home.
