Scrappy Yorkshire Terrier & Jack Russell Terrier Mix Natick, MA

Scrappy here! I'm a handsome 4 year old with a lot of love to give, and I'm in need of a forever home. I am not a morning guy, I prefer to sleep in til 12, but I certainly have bursts of energy in the afternoon and evening. Short walks are my favourite first thing and I like a longer hike later in the day. I am a playful guy who absolutely loves toys that occasionally give me treats. I have a frisbee shaped one right now and it is SO FUN. I even carry it around sometimes. I also have a ball that kibble falls out of. They are the best things to play with! The only thing that would make them better is if they squeaked. I like playing tug, and hanging out on the same level as my people.

I only arrived with my foster family at the start of October so they are just getting to know me. They have left me at home hanging out in the lounge for the evening a couple of times, and I just chilled out on the couch. If I have access to other rooms I might let you know I’d rather you were with me by leaving you an unpleasant surprise, though. I'm house-trained, and will use puppy pads if they are available. I have had one or two accidents in the bathroom when I have access to that room.

Neighbours say I’ve been quiet as a mouse!

I'm food-motivated, and have a particular liking for minnows. I'm happy to eat dry food and like to play with food puzzles to slow dinner time down a bit.

I'm very social and people oriented. I’d be the perfect companion for someone who is looking for a best friend that's happy to hang out on the couch or go on long afternoon and evening walks around the neighbourhood. Sometimes I get nervous on walks when other dogs are around, and then I sneeze a lot and lie down. I like to be picked up when this happens and then get back to wanting to walk again pretty quickly.

I’m having a problem with being quite itchy at the moment, and my foster family are trying to figure out why. They are trying some different foods to see if that helps. We know it isn’t fleas because I’ve already been flea treated.

I'm a bit shy at first, but once I warm up to you, you'll see just how affectionate I can be! I'm always up for a good snuggle and I love nothing more than to be loved.
