Meet Scout - ADOPTED!
Scout is a two and a half year old boxer mix who weighs just under 60 pounds. Scout has been living with a ten-year-old male dog that he considers the leader of the house and Scout is very comfortable with this “arrangement”. He is a very active and energetic dog who loves to go for a ride, take a walk, hike or run and to be with people and familiar dogs.
Scout is very excited around children and with close supervision can be with small children but would do best living with older children who are dog savvy or young adults. Scout enjoys a quiet and consistent household to allow for “down time” and relaxation. He thrives with structure and expectations and is a very affectionate, sweet companion who loves to be close to his humans.
Scout is overly interested in cats and has chased them in the past so we do not recommend a home with cats for Scout. While he is very friendly with dogs that he knows, he has anxiety when meeting a new dog and introductions need to be made carefully.
Scout places his trust in his owner to keep him safe with other dogs who are friendly.
Scout is house trained and crate trained. Scout would be the perfect match for an active single person or a couple. An active family with older children would be very happy with Scout’s friendly, fun loving, playful personality.
To apply to adopt Scout, please request an application via email.

Please note: We do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.
Thank you for considering rescue!
