Meet Scout

Scout came to the rescue back last year after his litter was shuffled from one home to another with thoughts of making money. He was pretty submissive initially but we started work on him and he turned around beautifully. He had been adopted out to a veteran that was hoping to train him to meet his needs. The home had a few animals that taunted Scout or attacked him so now he doesn't really care for cats and little dogs, especially corgis he is not a fan of because he was picked on repeatedly.
He has been receiving rehabilitation as well as re-establish his social skills and interactions with other animals, and brushing up on his obedience skills. Scout would benefit from someone that has has experience, as an adult, with raising and training shepherds as to better understand and to not let him get a big egos. He has been ok in his foster home with all the dogs, even the 2 corgis the foster has. His foster mom has been working on cats but not making progress, an ideal home is one without cats.
Scout is current on shots, chipped, neutered, negative for HW, Giardia, Coccidia and Parvo. Scout is a very tall lanky boy that when he matures out (around 2yrs old) will maybe be 75-80#. He is more American line than European so he is lighter framed. Scout is housebroken to be allowed out every 2-4 hrs or when asked, and crate trained for work day or overnights, he will randomly do "scared pee" when frightenedby something. It is recommended to crate while at work and possibly at bedtime unless you puppy proof the house because he will garbage can dive when you're not looking.
Ideal home would be one with maybe a dog buddy 60# or bigger, no cats, he's fine with children (10 years or older, as he can be an clumsy oaf sometimes with excitement), and someone experienced with the breed (meaning have owned and worked with as an adult, not grown up with as a child). The owner should have, at minimum, intermediate large dog (preferably with shepherds) experience, he does have ALOT of puppiness left in him, so tons of energy. Scout is not for a quiet, sit back and watch Netflix on your weekend off, he would love hiking trip or anything to burn off steam. He would love someone that like to run. If you would like more info, please call/text FOSTER MOM at (218)640-1930 or (320)414-2263. Please be courteous with times inquiring, you can count on no response when you send texts or messages at 1:30-2am in the morning. Think practical, if your looking for answers to decide if you would like to move forward, call during reasonable times 8am -9pm Sunday thru Saturday. Can start as just text, but do require speaking to a live person to know not a scam. Meet and greets required in the potential adopter's home. Don't need tours, just want to watch body language and interactions between animal and everyone in the family.
Hope to here some interest in this handsome boy. He is not little. Stands about 24 .5 inches at shoulder, not top of head.
