I don't want to. Don't make me. Oh, okay, I will talk to them, but I'm not going near them…

Hi, my name is Scout. Please don't be offended by me keeping my distance. I am very wary of new people and don't feel comfortable getting too close. I'm doing very well with my foster family. As a matter of fact, I'm really affectionate with them. I just happen to believe that good relationships happen slowly. Guess I'm not a "love at first sight" type of guy.

I hate to brag, but I happen to be pretty smart. I'm house trained and know how to come on command. I also am very aware of the television. I'm not sure why humans keep that silly noise box in the living room, but I often get really worked up by sounds I hear coming from that thing. Oh, no! What was that? As startling as it is, my foster mom is able to easily calm me down.

Sometimes we go for car rides, which I thoroughly enjoy. I like to look at the scenery as we begin our journey, but I quickly become too relaxed to continue so simply lie down and doze.

I can be a bit possessive of things that are mine. For example, I get a little testy when someone tries to make me get off the couch. Don't judge. You wouldn't be happy about that either. And I'm sure to let my foster siblings know that they're not allowed to approach my food bowl. I don't do anything awful to them. I just give a little warning growl. Again, you wouldn't appreciate someone trying to eat food from your plate, would you? I'm just trying to teach everyone some manners.

I absolutely love to play outside in the fenced yard. The best thing to do in the yard is dig, dig, dig! My foster sister does the same thing, so we see who can dig the best hole. We have one that we can both hide in! Dirt is good. Oh, and some other things I love to do are playing with my foster siblings, and burrowing. I don't actually burrow outside. However, blankets, pillows, and dog beds are all fair game. I push and arrange, paw and prod, circle and reverse. Eventually I am completely covered and oh so cozy. I hear my foster mom chuckle when I do this. I enjoy keeping her entertained.

Okay, that's all I have to say about me. Ciao for now.
