Meet Savannah
Savannah is a gorgeous four-month-old lab/pointer mix puppy. She is AMAZING! Before we got her, she was going to be dumped by her owner. This scared and uncertain puppy had no idea what was happening to her. She only knew she was being pulled roughly out of a car and being yelled at by the person she thought was going to love her. We saw this transpire and knew this young puppy was going to become a part of our shelter where nothing bad was going to happen to her again. She is safe and loved with us as we search for her perfect family.
Savannah is incredibly gorgeous, with long legs, a shiny black coat, and a spot of merle grey on her chest. She has sparkling eyes, a sweet smile and inquisitive and floppy ears. She is out-going, friendly, affectionate, and mindful. She has so many of the happy and easy-going traits of a black lab.
Savannah loves attention. During her “photo shoot” she had so much fun. She is a bouncy, energetic puppy, who loves to play. She loves other dogs and we can test with cats. She walks well on a leash, she's outgoing, confident and mindful (as mindful as a young pup can be lol!) Savannah is not mouthy, rather she is gentle and snuggly. She loves playing with toys and takes treats so gently. Savannah will be a dog of a lifetime. She will do well in a family with kids, a family with another dog in the home or an active couple or person who will take her on their travels and adventures. Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully received. If you don’t receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with a current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also rescued from local and area Animal Controls. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
Adoptions and meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only. Complete an application and someone will be in touch just as soon as they can. An application doesn’t commit you or us to an adoption, but it allows our coordinator to begin the review process.
