Samora American Staffordshire Terrier Taylor, TX

Hi, y’all! I’m Samora and I’m super special ‘cause I had a rough road to get here but love helped me pull through. I came to the shelter emaciated and full of heart worms, but I sure have turned around! A little TLC goes a long way, huh? I was in a fab foster home for months while getting my heart worm treatment, but now I’m back at the shelter and waiting for my FUREVER home.

My foster momma says if you’re in need of a snuggle buddy or couch potato, look no further than ME. She says I love everyone and love being by your side at all times. I need a low-stress house and prefer short walks. I already know how to come when called and I’m still working on my leash walking skills, but I’m very food motivated, so I learn fast.

I play well with most dogs with the right introduction. I was with 5 other dogs around the foster home but preferred to be in charge due to the neglectful home I left behind. I’d do great as an only dog. If not, my foster momma recommends keeping me separated from other dogs during feeding and treat time because I came to the shelter so emaciated, but I’ve come a long way and continue to heal! AND I LOVE FOOD. Who blames me after all I’ve been through? I literally do a happy dance when the food is on its way!

My foster momma was very impressed I never chewed up anything and never had any accidents in the house the whole time I was there. I also did great with baths and nail trims. Not bad for a dog who came from such neglect, huh? What can I say? I’m a very GOOD GIRL. A literal “princess”, in the words of my foster momma.
