Samara was found in a box along a busy highway . Luckily a kind person stopped to check and was able to rescue her from what could have been a horrible ending. We THINK that she was born about 8/28/24 and we THINK that she is a Terrier mix, although she could be a Boxer mix too. We hope to do a DNA test to better determine her breed. Based on her weight we believe that she’ll end up as a medium sized dog.
She is a total sweetheart who loves being held. She loves playing with the two resident, large dogs and the current small foster dog in her foster home. Samara doesn’t back down from any of them. This girl is super active and super vocal - when she wants something she wants it NOW (much like the toddler that she is).
Samara will sleep in her crate through the night although she usually requests a bathroom break at some point. She is trained to “pee pads” and is working on outside potty skills as well. She is super food motivated and will be easy to train as she is very attentive to what is going on around her. She loves her toys, both stuffies and chewable items, and has never turned her nose up to a meal.
Samara's vetting should be done by late December. If you are considering having her join your family please remember that she is a puppy who requires constant supervision as she will get into everything. She will require a lot of training to become the well-mannered dog that she has the possibility of becoming. Remember, your dog is a direct reflection of the time and energy you put forth.

As part of our adoption agreement, we require that you and your adopted canine attend a minimum of one group basic obedience course within 4 months of adoption. If adopting a puppy under 4 months old, we also require a group puppy socialization course be started immediately upon adoption.
In addition, we require that puppies under 6 months of age will not be alone for more than 4 hours at a time in an 8 hour workday. We highly encourage working families to consider older puppies and adult dogs, but if your heart is set on a puppy, please consider doggie daycare.
