Samantha (Mandy) Black Labrador Retriever Warrington, PA

Hi! My name is Samantha, but you can call me Mandy. I am a 6.5 year-old spayed black Labrador retriever. I came to Brookline from a farm in south eastern Pennsylvania. I had some fleas that made my skin itchy, and was very nervous when I first was rescued. My foster family brought me back to health and I have lots of confidence now! My FM tells me my coat looks like silk after she is finished brushing me. I weigh about 65 pounds, I am up to date on my shots and I have been microchipped, house trained, and crate trained. I can sit, and stay, and will love you to pieces!

I love to go for rides with FM while she runs errands. FD tells me I am a great companion to hang out with. I walk easily on a leash without pulling – unless a squirrel peaks my interest, then I’m in hot pursuit. I don’t get too far because FM put one of those gentle leaders on me. When I have it on, it is easy for me to keep instep with her! I live with another female dog, but she doesn’t like to play much with balls, or tug-of-war.

My favorite sport is surfing, counter surfing that is. Once I see there is nothing up there that interests me, I keep my nose to the ground trolling for any morsels that might have dropped. The truth is, I am easily redirected to another activity, especially one of those nylabones. When I first came into foster care, I was trying to exert my dominance. Now that I know my place, I have happily settled into my role as family pet.

My ideal family will have a mom or dad that is looking for a constant companion. I love to be with you and am very well behaved. I love to be busy with you, and love my walks. You can take me anywhere with anyone, and I will love all of your friends. I don’t bark much, and just love to be around YOU. I am ok with a medium size dog that will not boss me around, because that makes me nervous. I really want a family to keep up with my training so I can continue going out with you and be your best friend.
