About
- Coat length
- Short
- House-trained
- Yes
- Health
- Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered, special needs. SPECIAL NEEDS REQUIREMENT - a committed adopter - ADULTS ONLY HOME - who will provide daily positive behavioral conditioning and rehabilitation. Previous experience with fearful behavior, or experience with dogs that have been abused or neglected is preferred. Sam may never be a “normal” dog; he has made great strides in learning to enjoy life. My foster home is helping me with a behavioral, emotional, or medical situation, so I would only be available at this time to a family willing and able to take on and commit to a special needs IG. My optimal home as Adults Only, an Italian Greyhound companion, someone that is home mostly during the day and is okay with a dog that prefers canine companionship to human companionship. Additionally, familiarity with fearful behavior and/or has experience with dogs that have been abused/neglected in their past.
- Good in a home with
- Other dogs, other animals. Other small dogs - prefers the companionship of other dogs to people.
- Prefers a home without
- Children.
Petfinder recommends that you should always take reasonable security steps before making online payments.
Meet SAM - CYPRESS TX
I am a puppy mill survivor who is ultra skittish. I need a home with a female only who is home most of the time and has experience with ultra skittish former puppy mill dogs. Having other dogs in the home really helps me learn how the household works.
I prefer to sleep in a dog bed. I am unable to walk on a leash so access to a secure fenced in yard is a must. Dog parks are not an option for me.
I consider the crate my safe space and don't mind being in there at all for reasonable amounts of time. If the door is left open, I will put myself inside to rest.
I know how to use designated potty pads indoors and also know how to use my dog door.
