SAM German Shepherd Dog & Belgian Shepherd / Malinois Mix Airmont, NY

SAM, THE MAN... is a German Shepherd and Belgium Malinois mix, (with more weight on the German Shepherd). At 3.5 years old, he has found himself for the second time looking for his forever home. We realize that can emit red flag alerts, however, we are confident when placed in a home without a cat, Sam will make your mind, heart and soul sing.

This boy is extremely well-mannered (unless you are a cat, chicken, squirrel, or any tiny creature). He is both crate and house-trained. He is great with adults, well-versed with kids, and also gets along well with other dogs. We do not however know how he is with smaller dogs, and have no indication of if or how he might react with smaller breeds. Note: He is NOT good with cats, and that is why he is being rehomed.

SAM is smart and enjoys his training sessions. He can SIT, STAY, AND BANG (play dead). This boy enjoys regular practice sessions, and would benefit from further training.

What else does this boy enjoy? Having backyard time with another dog or just being out to have fun for about 30 minutes is important for his well-being (not counting the 30+ minute daily walks he is accustomed to twice a day). Sam does pull hard on a leash, and this is the #1 area where he could improve.

And like any German Shepherd, SAM is all about protecting his family. He initially barks at strangers, but has never been aggressive towards a person.
