SAILOR JERRY is a good lookin' Boxer mix! He is 4 years old and he weighs 50 lbs. He has long legs and beautiful coat.
Sailor Jerry is one of the friendliest boys you’ll meet! He absolutely loves people! He loves to play with other dog friends in the play yard. He does prefer dog friends that are his size or bigger. He also doesn’t want any cat friends! He thinks they’re toys ?. He gets excited when the volunteers come to get him from his kennel because he loves his walks. He does get excited and pull, but that’s nothing a little training and treats can’t fix! He is such a goofy boy. He loves to run and play with toys. His whole goal is to make his people laugh. He is a clean guy, he wants a clean kennel and a clean bed so he makes sure to potty outside! He would love a family that’s going to take him on fun adventures! He deserves a home that will spoil him and treat him how he deserves.
Sailor Jerry and his doggie friend were abandoned at the lake by their owner. His friend was injured but Jerry stayed with him until help arrived. Despite being starved and terrified Sailor Jerry was very loving and trusting. His friend survived and went to Whispering Willows senior sanctuary-- now it’s Jerry’s turn to find his amazing home.
ADOPTING A PET
We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. We are also open Monday through Friday by appointment. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.
If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.
Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).
