Meet Rusty
Meet Rusty!
Rusty is a sweet boy that was lucky enough to wander onto the right property as a stray. After no one stepped forward to claim this handsome guy, his foster decided to let him stay until a fur-ever home could be found.
Rusty is estimated to be about a year to year and a half old, is 62 lbs, neutered, vaccinated and looks like a mix of Mountain Cur, Plott Hound and Shepherd breeds (best guess).
This sweet boy is pretty chill. He's very happy and wants to please. Rusty doesn't seem to mind the leash, does well in a harness and walks like the chill dude he is. He loves car rides!
Currently, he enjoys sleeping outside in the grass or on the back porch. It is unknown if he is crate trained or house broken. Rusty is not food aggressive, is treat driven and responds to direction to be gentle when receiving treats.
Rusty gets along well with the other dogs he has been exposed to and seems to want to be wherever people or dogs are. He has been exposed to men, women and children and seems to have no issues. However, he has not been left alone with children nor has he been around really small children, so caution would need to be taken (as with any dog really!). Kitties are not a problem for Rusty either! He has not displayed a strong prey drive at all, however he has not been around any other farm animals so that situation is still an unknown.
He has not shown signs of wanting to escape. He has not tried to dig out or climb over the 5' fence where he is currently housed. Rusty is really pretty chill! He seems to take in his surroundings without much anxiety or over-reaction which is great. However, he is still a good alert barker, without being excessive.
Rusty is a mix of working breeds, so mental stimulation and room to exercise will be important to maintain his well-being. This boy would make a great addition to a family that has love to share!
