Rusty Fox Terrier Spring, TX

My name is Rusty and I am a 1-2 year old male Jack Russel Terrier. I am 25 pounds and was found on the street after someone dumped me in an area with no homes in sight. Luckily my foster dad found me and brought me home. Since being with my foster mom and dad I have learned that marking inside is not okay. I am using the doggy door 100% of the time and not having accidents in the house. I have also learned that I LOVE my fur sister who plays with me all day. I would really love a home where I can have another fur sibling to play with. I don’t mind the cat either but she doesn’t play with me, I am really curious about her but not aggressive. I am learning that toys can be fun, my favorite toys are the ones that are small and squeak. My foster mom says I am always busy and need something to do. I would love a home that is active and that I can be on the move most of the day. I do well in my crate if needed but when my foster parents go to work I stay out and sleep most of the time when they are gone. I am not destructive and don’t go potty in the house when they are gone. I am good with older children, my foster sister is 10 and I love that she chases me and gives me treats but since I don’t know personal space I would probably be best with older kids. My foster sister even makes me sit for treats and I can do that! I am learning that the leash is not scary, I have never been on a leash before and am learning how to walk on a leash and interact with others while walking. I still need some help with not being scared of other dogs and people when walking. I don’t sleep in a crate, I prefer to sleep with my family. My foster mom says I am the best cuddle buddy. I curl up right next to her and sleep all night long, sometimes I even stretch out across her pillow and take it from her! She says I turn into a big baby when I’m tired. I also eat really well, I even share with my fur siblings until my foster mom makes everyone eat their own food. I even let my foster mom hand feed me and touch my food, I am not mean to her! I love to be outside but when it gets too cold my foster mom says I shiver and need a jacket. After I get my jacket I feel a lot better!

Rusty’s ideal home is a home that is active, a family that is home most of the time (short periods of crating are okay), another friendly/playful dog, children >8 years old (he doesn’t know personal space), no livestock (he doesn’t like goats, horses or donkeys), a fenced in yard since he is active, and someone who is going to continue to challenge him with new tasks regularly. Rusty is neutered, up to date on shots and heartworm negative.
