RUPERT is one of 18 dogs that were confiscated by the cruelty investigator from a horrendous hoarding situation.
This rescue accepted 9 of the dogs...either because they were so nervous and would not do well in a shelter situation...or needed extensive vet care. They are all very comfortable around the other dogs that were surrendered together. Having had all his necessary vet care completed, RUPERT is now ready for his new life.

RUPERT is a one year old supposed Chinese Crested/Yorkie (?) maybe Chihuahua mix who weighs about 8 pounds. RUPERT has a sweet personality and will give kisses when he is picked up. He loves to play...especially with small stuffed squeaky toys and rubber squeaker toys. He will undoubtedly be nervous when first meeting new people. Another dog in his new home to pattern his behavior after and teach him "how to dog" would be helpful. He will NOT be placed in homes with young children.

RUPERT will need an understanding new owner who will be willing to work with him on his housetraining. He is using potty pads in his foster home. These dogs have not had a normal life until now so it may take some time for him to be completely trained.

We are REQUIRING a securely fenced yard for his safety...not using a tie out or an invisible fence...but a physical fence such as chain link fencing or privacy fencing. DO NOT APPLY if you do not have a fenced yard as you will not be considered.

RUPERT...along with the others from that situation...are true "rescue" dogs...in every sense of the word. To be able to take them from that horrible situation...and give them a loving home...is so very rewarding. These dogs know that they were rescued...and are so very grateful. His adoption fee of $500 will help offset his costs including all the necessary vet care he has received (which well exceeds the amount of his adoption fee) needed to get him to be the healthy dog he is today...and also includes his food, and a collar, leash, and harness.
