Yes, at 65 pounds RUFUS can be considered a large dog. He is estimated to be six years old with a short, red and white coat and he has a friendly and gentle personality. RUFUS arrived at the shelter in the early part of November 2024 and is currently taking up residence in a large dog crate because of space constraints at the shelter. It isn’t that they don’t have enough room. It is that there are too many dogs whose owners never show up to reclaim them. As a result, it does take a while to get them spayed or neutered and adopted. In the meantime, RUFUS is being a complete gentleman about the situation and taking life easy during the time that he is confined to the crate. His outside photos were taken while his crate was being cleaned, and he was temporarily being housed outdoors. RUFUS has not yet been neutered and that must be done before he can go home with you as your own. Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared!
