Ruby Mixed Breed Bismarck, ND

Ruby, 6-months old, came to FFRR emaciated, injured and scared. She is slow to warm up to people, but when she does, she is totally devoted. She did remarkably well with people at a meet and greet, chillin' out on her blanket, letting everyone pet her.
Ruby currently lives in the country and has no inclination whatsoever to leave the yard. She LOVES her crate. She stays in the garage, having a doggie door to come and go as she pleases. She is aggressive toward dogs because of fear, but after a warming-up period is fine. She is food aggressive, having had to fight for every morsel in the past. But she's a quick learner and would likely overcome that if a household has another dog in which it might present a problem.
Ruby is about 18 or 19-inches high at the shoulder and weighs 30 pounds. The guess for lineage is border collie, maybe terrier and who knows what. She has the face of a shepherd but is much smaller in build. She's UTD on vaccines and is spayed. She is gentle, allowing a person to take her food away, play with her feet and roll her over - very submissive.
She has an old injury to her rear leg, but that doesn't slow her down and it's often unnoticeable. She loves her person/people and stays close even off leash.
Ruby's curious about and would like to play with the cat, but is currently mad at him, as he gave her what for. She retrieves a toy/ball, and she isn't much of a barker. Ruby is a sweet, mellow girl who just wants to love and be loved.
