Ruby Redbone Coonhound & Terrier Mix Cary, NC

Ruby is a very special girl. She is now almost 2 years old. She is a beautiful chestnut red color, has a soft, shiny coat, and is in perfect weight. It is hard to imagine that she was dehydrated, skin and bones, and covered with mange when she was found a year ago. Ruby was very scared of people when we first started working with her. Now she loves the folks she knows but is still nervous around strangers. She is getting better every day, but she will need someone who understands shy dogs and who will be very patient with her. She loves her doggie and kitty siblings and gets along with all the dogs she meets at the dog park and elsewhere. She would probably do best with another dog in the home.

Ruby is house trained, does not destroy anything when left alone, and knows most obedience commands. She loves to go to the dog park, play on agility equipment, and fetch balls.
