Roxy was surrendered to IDR+ after her owners were moving for work and could not care for her any longer. Roxy is a young girl that needs a job to keep her energy focused in a positive direction and without that she can tend to get into things that are not hers like chewing on her foster mom’s shoes. Roxy’s ideal home is with someone who does not leave anything out where she can claim it. She is quick and she is opportunistic so not leaving out tempting items is the best way to help not have your items ruined.

Roxy still has a lot of puppy energy. She is go go go and will need someone that can keep up with her. She loves to be outside and to run around so someone that is active and can help her use all of her energy is a must. She likes to play bite and the other dogs we’ve exposed her to do not take kindly to that. As a result, she would be best with a dog with similar energy or a tolerant dog that can help to set a good example for her.

Roxy has some great qualities as well. Roxy is house trained and crate trained and when you’re not able to keep eyes on her or you need to run an errand, she is perfectly content in her crate. She is super smart and knows some basic commands such as sit, down, stay, drop it and heel. Roxy craves training and has soaked up all the exposure to formal training that she has been offered. She has been happy to work with both her familiar foster mom as well as with a new person handling her.

Roxy has a lot of love to give but she is a true working dog and she needs a job. Having an experienced owner who can be patient and commit to her training can help her blossom into the dog we know she can be.
