Meet Rosie

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION.

1. Children should be at least 7 years old.

2-year-old female Chihuahua, about 6 pounds. Meet Rosie. She is a sweet, adorable, and timid girl who loves everyone with just a little time to warm up. She may submissively pee for a little time when she is first adopted, but she has grown out of it. She gets along with my two dogs but rarely tries to play with them. Rosie is a people dog rather than a dog's dog. She loves to follow me around everywhere and be my shadow. Rosie loves to go on walks and has become a fabulous leash walker. She rarely barks, but she has a very cute bark when she’s excited or when she sees a squirrel or another dog. She is very easy to redirect with a quick “no”. She is very comfortable in the car and doesn't get car sick. She loves to sleep, especially when someone is sitting next to her on the couch, preferring to be as close to you as possible! She also loves to be outside, especially if you are with her, running around and sniffing so we would like at least a small yard for her. Rosie is a very picky eater and will need someone who is willing to keep trying new but dog-healthy foods. She is not usually wanting to eat breakfast but gobbles her dinner at mealtime. She is just now starting to play with small stuffed animals and carries them around to show me. Rosie will do best in a home with much older children or with an adult only home. She is not fond of noises created by my grandchildren when they visit. She will hide wherever she can find to keep herself safe. Rosie would do fine with another dog who isn’t interested in a play buddy. But I think she’d also do just fine as an only dog. To request an adoption application, email smidgetrescue@hotmail.com

Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/events . Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Additional pictures of adoptable dogs can be seen at: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/photos_stream?tab=photos_albums. All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age or older. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. APPLICATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED BY EMAIL ONLY. Adoption process includes application, meet & greet, home visit and reference check. Email Jamie at smidgetrescue@hotmail.com or click on the CONTACT link on this page. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS BEFORE SENDING. 8632781We get a fair number of incorrect emails and Jamie is not able to contact potential adopters. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
