Meet Rosie

Rosie is a gentle girl who is learning to trust. She's an expert at naps, especially if there's a sunny spot to lay in. She gets along great with the small dog and cats in her foster home but she is nervous around people, so a home without small children is a must. Though she looks like a teddy bear, Rosie is not a cuddler. In fact, she compulsively tries to avoid contact and is hard to catch, even in the house. That makes her a flight risk. In spite of this avoidance, Rosie really wants to belong and will hang out in the same room as you, and when she begins to show trust it will melt your heart. It would be hard for Rosie to live in an apartment where she'd have to be caught and put on leash every time she went out; she'll do better in a house with a secure fenced yard. She'd love a quiet home with another dog to build her confidence. Rosie is crate trained but allowed to be loose in her foster home without problems. When necessary, she walks well on leash (her foster mom uses two leashes for security) but some foot issues mean she is not up for big walks. Rosie is looking for someone who can see past these complexities and will patiently help her learn to trust.
