Meet Roscoe
Roscoe lives with his foster Mom and Dad, and he loves snuggling with both of them. Over the holidays, he met their adult kids, aunts, and even a Grandma—and he did wonderfully! He prefers to meet new people at his own pace, especially when they’re sitting down and offering plenty of time to sniff—or better yet, a treat! He was especially gentle and calm around older adults, surprising his foster family with how considerate he could be.
Roscoe’s Favorite Activities:
>>> Walks: He’s an enthusiastic walker and loves to sniff every smell he can find—his inner bloodhound shines here! He can even jog 2–3 miles a couple of times a week and enjoys daily walks.
>>> Playing Ball: While he doesn’t always fetch, he loves running around with a squeaky ball in his mouth, bringing endless joy to playtime.
>>> Snow Adventures: He loves pouncing in the snow to find his ball, coming up with a snow-dusted nose and a wagging tail.
>>> Squeaky Toys: Roscoe is all about his toys and enjoys a good squeaky session, but he doesn’t chew them up.
Home Life:
Roscoe is housebroken and does well when left home alone—no destruction, just a happy pup waiting for your return. He puts himself to bed around 7:30 or 8 PM but might join you on his bed in your room later. In the morning, he’ll politely wait until 6 AM to ask if it’s time to get up.
Training and Behavior:
This smart boy knows “sit” and “shake” and is working on “wait,” “leave it,” and “settle,” which helps him stay calm around other dogs. While he’s still learning to fully relax around dogs on the same sidewalk, he’s made great progress with passing dogs on the other side of the street or in yards without reacting. His foster mom jokes that she has to use a thesaurus because if he hears the word “walk,” he gets too excited!
Perfect Match:
Roscoe is a big, strong dog with a gentle heart, but he thrives in a calm, child-free home. While he hasn’t been around young children, his preference for meeting people at his own pace suggests he’d do best without them. He would love a family that enjoys walks, has a yard for him to play in, and is happy to cuddle him at the end of the day.
Roscoe is the ultimate companion—equal parts personal trainer, cuddle buddy, and joyful ball chaser. If you’re ready to add this amazing pup to your family, Roscoe is ready to meet you and fill your home with love!
