Meet Ronnie

Ronnie is a handsome young man, that we would describe as a juvenile, aged 2+ years. He seems fine with all people including kids once he meets them. He’s a little shy at first, but then he’s good.

We don’t know how he would do with cats or little animals, but we would say no to anything small at this stage, due to his boisterous nature and inherent Jindo-prey-drive.

He does fine with large dogs, but as a juvenile, he can be pushy and sometimes has to be put in his place -and he seems to learn from that and/or getting a time out here and there.

We have not seen any resource guarding with toys or anything like that and of course we feed everybody separately, but his foster Mom picks up his bowl and plays with his mouth and he hasn’t given her any problems .

He walks well on a leash though he’s hard to catch up first because he’s not sure what you’re trying to do with him but once on the leash, he enjoys the walk.
As with many Jindos, we would consider him an escape risk, in other words, if he got out of somebody’s front door, we think he would be hard to catch, especially if something had his interest!
We haven’t seen any destruction at all. He will drag his blanket that he has in his crate, but he doesn’t do anything with it.

We don’t see any separation anxiety, just a little mild barking, not really a problem at all.

His recall still needs some work, but once he loves you, he loves you!

Ronnie doesn’t really know fetch - he runs after the other dogs who are chasing the ball, (at his foster home), but he’s not quite sure what they’re doing ??

He tries to bite at the hind legs of other dogs when he gets excited/playing, almost like a herding dog, and that’s where he gets into minor-tiffs with other dogs because they don’t like it and they tend to turn around and correct him. Youthful over-exuberance.

Ronnie is currently in foster in Northern Nevada, south of Reno, an area easily reached from the Bay Area in CA.
