Meet Rocket
Rocket (Ojay Rocket)is a retired racing greyhound from the UK who arrived to the US on May 1! This sweet boy was born on December 20 and is four and a half years old. His current kennel says he “used to be quick off the block” as a racer, but these days he is enjoying his retirement! His racing career was 50 races long, curtailed in April 2024 after a gracilis injury (a muscle in the hind leg). Don’t worry – he is all healed up now! Rocket is 75 lbs, In the UK kennel, he did well with small dogs as well as children, although he has not yet been cat tested. However, based on initial interactions in his foster home, we think he would do best in a home with no small dogs or cats.
Rocket walks well on a leash once he settles down, though he loves going for walks so can be a bit excitable at first. Once he gets to know you, he is very loving and enjoys his cuddles. He also enjoys playing with his toys, and is always entertaining to the kennel staff. How can anyone resist a cute face like this?
We primarily adopt across the Midwest, including Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Missouri, and surrounding states. Submit your adoption application today!

All of our available dogs are currently residing in foster homes, which means we gradually learn more about them the longer they are with us. We try to update profiles as we learn new information, but if you have questions about a specific dog, please ask!
Adoption fees include a routine vet exam/testing, spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and dental (if needed), as well as a safety harness, martingale collar, and matching leash. Adoption costs help to pay for transportation and other expenses as well.
