Meet Ringo - ADOPTED!!!

Meet Ringo. He was surrendered to the rescue by an elderly owner as one of four dogs (siblings) she wants to rehomeall around a year old. She called the local hotline to get the dogs altered and we were alerted to the situation and agreed to take Ringo in. We are not certain but suspect these siblings come from an unaltered dog in her home. Ringo was the first to come in for neuter and he was covered with fleas and had no prior vet care. We plan to help with the other dogs as we have fosters available to take them.

Ringo came into the rescue timid and a little skittish. The first day he was hesitant to engage and wanted to stay in his crate. He likely lived a sheltered life and did not get much exposure to the world outside his home. He's now in an active foster home with three adults, one teen son, multiple dogs including his bestie, Max, and two cats. He loves having Max as a companion and playmate in his pack - they even share food and treats nicely.

Ringo has acclimated quickly to his foster home. In only a few days, he's been crate-trained and sleeps soundly through the night, and he is almost fully potty-trained now that he understands the routine. He enjoys his walks and gets a little better and less jumpy every day. He is still fearful of loud noises and thunderstorms terrify him, so he is NOT a city dog and would do best in a calmer, quieter neighborhood.

We think Ringo would do best in a calm home with a structured routine. Doing walks, potty breaks, and food at consistent times helps a timid dog trust their new environment by knowing what to expect. He's a lower to moderate-energy dog, so regular walks and a little playtime are all he needs. He would benefit from another confident dog in the home to follow their lead and help build his confidence.

Overall, Ringo is a sweet, cuddly pup with his humans. He's initially nervous with new people and visitors but needs more time to settle in and realize he's home. He's a dog who needs an owner with a little dog-savvy who understands the needs of a timid dog. He will adapt and learn with time, repeated exposure, and positive experiences.

Preference will be given to adopters who.....

Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes.
