Meet Renaissance

Have you ever met a soul so thankful to be alive, happy for everything she's given, and tender? Whether or not you've experienced a dog like this, Renaissance is the epitome of a beautiful blossoming flower.

Renni came to the Mission after being found in an absolutely despicable state. Her body condition (as you can see in the photos) was about as close to death as you can get.

Thankfull, the Mission took control of the situation and provided a loving foster home for her to recover. She is still on a re-feeding program that consistes of frequent small meals but she is graduating towards larger meals 3 times per day. She came to us at 24.4lbs and is now up to about 28lbs. Her target weight is about 45lbs.

Personality wise, she is wonderful in so many ways. She's incredibly thankful for every piece of fabric that provides her comfort, and you can tell she appreciates every meal. She wiggles her butt in the absolute cutest way and taps her feet when it's time for attention or food.

Renni does great with other dogs all though she will stand her ground if another dog is in her face inappropriately pushing her boundaries. She is completely neutral to cats. Unknown around livestock and farm animals but I have a feeling she would do great.

It is unknown how she does with children but based on all interactions she's had with all types of people, we believe she would do great with them.

As with any dog that has suffered severe neglect and starvation, there is a possibility of her personality going from 0-100 in an instant. That has not been observed in foster care, but it's something any potential adopter should be aware of. She should be crated when left alone, and does great in her kennel. No whining or fussing throughout the night and she can sleep through the night without potty breaks. She does also enjoy the bed, so it's up to you where she sleeps.

It is important that she be taught independence and not be coddled immediately. We know it's tough because she's so loving and sweet but if she is handled improperly, it could create behavioral issues such as separation anxiety.

Rennis adoption fee is $200 and she comes spayed, fully vaccinated (including lepto and bordetella), dewormed and mircochopped and with all medical paperwork. She will also come with a leash, ID collar, harness, and sample of food.
