MY AGE: 5years (DOB 4/30/21) WEIGHT: approx. 55 lbs

MY STORY: This charming mini Bernese Mountain Dog is looking for her forever home! She is a sweet and friendly girl with a heart full of love to give. Estimated to be around 3-5 years old, she’s still young at heart and ready to blossom in a nurturing environment.

She gets along beautifully with other dogs, making her a wonderful companion for your furry friends. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loving, playful pup who just needs a little extra care, this sweet girl is the perfect match for you!

Reese's is currently in a foster home! Read more about her amazing progress.
Foster update: Reese’s is still learning to be comfortable in the presence of humans. She spends most of her time on her doggy bed near the resident dog. Reese has been checking in on the humans, which means she goes to the areas we are occupying and pokes her head in. We aren’t completely sure if this indicates her need to go outside, or her simply checking things out, but we do take her outside in these moments and she does her business. Reese reads like a slow novel. Change comes slowly, but we appreciate and encourage the changing moments when they appear. Sometimes we have to go back a few pages and use some problem solving skills. We found a routine for getting Reese in/out of the house without carrying her, and then recently it didn’t work. We first analyze to find what changed for her. Oh yes, it was two days ago we wiped the dogs muddy feet at the door. Bingo. She went through a day or two of hesitation entering the home. She recalibrated her new experience and now is back to her original routine of entering the house on her own. One step forward, sometimes one step back. Reese is quiet, gentle and shows no sign of aggression. Reese is learning to be brave, one day at a time. The most rewarding part will be watching her eyes of fear transition to eyes of love and companionship.

Foster update: If you like books, Reese tells a story that reveals a new chapter every week. Reese is a breeder release that came to our home with some typical behaviors of unsocialized dogs. She is very cautious, and avoids eye contact. Her first week she found her spot at the entrance to our hallway and that’s where she gravitated. She didn’t explore the house or yard. The second week she started walking the yard and home, exploring her surroundings. She recognized the importance of her mentor dog and started sleeping next to him, and following him to go outside. Before this, she was carried in and out of the house to potty. She still needs time to warm up to humans, but we are discovering routines that work for her. She knows nothing of leashes, but that will come down the road. I am excited to see the chapters of her new life play out. She is good with cats. If you want to be a part of Reese next chapter, and teach her what love is, and the life she should have, she is your girl.

Are you ready to welcome her into your family? Contact us to learn more and help make her dreams come true!

Reese's will need a home with a physically fenced yard to keep her safe.

Breeder release dogs need extra time and patience. Please read our resource article on breeder releases before applying.

Dogs needing foster homes are available for adoption. Have you ever considered fostering a dog? For more information, see the Fluffy dog rescue home page.
