Meet Reagan

Reagan is a survivor. Before coming into our care, Reagan had crossed our path multiple times. Reagan belonged to a homeless woman. In August of 2024, when Reagan was a just a puppy, the homeless woman would ask a good Samaritan if Reagan could stay in her house for small amounts of time to get out of the heat. When the woman would come back to retrieve her dog, we never knew if or when we would see them again. Then, in early December, we saw the woman peddling a bike with Reagan jogging beside her. To our suprise, she once again arrived at the the house of the good Samaritan, this time, Reagan had a deep wound in her neck, and the homeless woman explained how she can no longer keep Reagan safe....Reagan had gotten too big for her, and the others on the street were not kind to Reagan. The deep wound on her neck was from a knife, Reagan was stabbed by an angry man who also stayed on the corner where camp was set. It has been several months since that December day, and Reagan is absolutely thriving in foster. Reagan loves to play with her fur foster brother. They romp all day and cuddle when not at play. Reagan is a big dog and she will need access to a back yard to stretch those legs. We also think she will be most happy in an active home with another dog. Reagan is very dog social. She is also a bit clumsy and on the goofy side. She is smart though... her foster mom has taught her to ring a bell to go outside, and she wipes her snoot after drinking water! As for her neck wound, there will always be a big scar, a reminder of her prior life and her rough beginning. We have never introduced Reagan to cats. As she is not an aggressive dog, we do think she could co-exist. Reagan is a goofball with big paws, which might intimidate a less confident cat.
