Reagan needs:
-Regular professional grooming.
-Possibly regular medicated baths to keep skin condition at bay.
-Adult home or one with children over 12.
-Someone home part of the day to continue reinforcing his house training
-Chicken as an ingredient should be avoided in anything he eats.
-Be aware that he gets car sick.
-Willing to work with a deaf dog.*

Hello all! This is Reagan, an 11-year-old, 9-pound long-legged beautiful male Yorkie. Reagan is a wonderful senior! He is gentle, loves to play with toys and cuddle up and Loves to wander in the yard, sniffing all over. He will just look at you with love and you can’t help but hug on him. His skin, including deep into his ears, was affected by a yeast infection when he first came to rescue. *We think he’s hearing impaired, but as his skin and ears are clearing up, we’ve seen him respond to his name. His skin is looking so much better with medication and medicated baths several times a week. He doesn’t enjoy his medicated baths but feels so much better after. The vet has said that his skin will continue to heal even after the baths have stopped.

We were told that he was allergic to chicken and that his skin issues were from this. Since coming to SBRET, we’ve been feeding him food with fish as the main ingredient, and making sure that no chicken is in anything he consumes.

He does still mark in the house, but having someone home during the day to take him out frequently works well. We’ve used belly bands for when we are away from home for longer times, and he handles it well. A belly band will come with him to assist in the transition. He sleeps on the bed at night, sleeps all night and is willing to sleep in as late as you want.
