Rascal & Moka Chihuahua Rochester, MN

Rascal (12 yrs) and Moka (12 yrs) are a bonded pair of Chihuahuas looking for a retirement home. Born just 6 days apart at the same breeder, they were adopted together as puppies and spent their life together with an elderly couple until last spring and the unexpected passing of their owner.
While they spent the majority of their lives mostly inside with short times outside on a leash, while being fostered by a family member the last several months they have learned the joys of roaming a fenced in back yard and sniffing every inch they can find. They have become acclimated with other dogs in their foster home (16 yr old husky mix & 5 yr old Jack Russell mix) but tend to keep to themselves. Rascal & Moka were free fed most of their lives but have become accustomed to regular mealtimes... And mealtime is their absolute favorite! As long as clear boundaries are set for them about which food bowl they are allowed to eat from, they handle eating around multiple dogs well. They love resting all day on their beds and letting you know when they could use a little attention. They aren't in constant need of a lap, but they do enjoy a warm spot to sit and a few pets in the evenings.
Rascal & Moka are looking for a quiet home to spend their twilight years where they can enjoy the outdoors often, perhaps a short walk from time to time, and have access to a lap every now and then.
Rascal and Moka have been completely vetted and are ready to be adopted. A generous sponsor has volunteered to cover half their adoption fee to help them find their forever home, so it is now $250 + MN sales tax.

- Small Dog Rescue of MN does not negotiate the adoption fee on our dogs and we must charge sales tax on all adoption fees in order to comply with Minnesota state law. Please note that SDR is philosophically opposed to the idea of buying and selling animals, and we support any future legislation that would remove sales tax from adoption fees. Until then, however, it must be charged.
