Rango Shar-Pei & Pit Bull Terrier Mix Phoenix, AZ

Rango! Where to begin?? Rango had been on our radar for a while. He was living on a property with other dogs that bred suffering and cruelty. The dogs had wounds, were skin and bones, tick infected, fighting over the little amount of food that was dumped for them. It was brutal. The numerous calls made to AZHS did little to help the situation. Over these last few years, we have been able to help a few of the dogs that continued to suffer on the property. On one visit, a volunteers notice that Rango was getting out of the yard and would be up against a fence. When approached, he would cower in fear, and we understood that he was scared and hurting. Once in our care, Rango was very cautious. He had a body that was littered with open wounds, ticks, and skin that was almost leather like. Rango was not feeling well and needed time to decompress. Fast forward to today, Rango is feeling better and is the most affectionate dog on this planet. Rango loves to meet new people and is a total lap dog! Although Rango once shared a yard with multiple dogs, we are placing him as an only dog. He obviously has been beaten up by dogs and we feel he is happiest with people. Rango will live his best life as an only dog and a human to cuddle and spoil him. Rango will thrive in a home with yard access that has a baby pool. He loves, loves, loves to cool himself in the pool. He will do just fine with mature , older kids. Rango is not much of a cat guy. This pooch has been through a lot. Rango is patiently waiting for a place to call home.
