Rain Maltese Toronto, ON

Background: Rain, a charming male Maltese, was rescued from a neglectful pet shop owner, where he and seven other dogs were confined to a tiny, dark room with no sunlight. Since his rescue, Rain has been living comfortably with other dogs at our partner boarding house, soaking up the love and care he deserves.

Personality and Socialization: Rain is an affectionate and friendly boy with a lively, high-energy spirit. He’s very social and loves the company of other dogs, especially those around his size. Confident and outgoing, Rain is not shy around strangers or men—he genuinely enjoys being around people. He’s a sweet companion who will shower you with love and plenty of kisses. While he hasn’t had experience with cats or young children, he’s always eager to make new friends.

Behavior: Rain is well-behaved in the car, often settling down and taking quiet naps during rides. He does great at the vet and handles baths and grooming without a fuss. Due to his early life in a dark, confined space, Rain had limited experience with leash walks, as he was never let outside by the pet shop owner. Despite this, he has adapted remarkably well, showing no destructive behaviors and reliably using indoor pee pads. Rain continues to adjust smoothly to new environments and routines.

Health and Diet: Rain has undergone all necessary medical examinations and is in excellent health, ready to join his new family. He is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and receives regular parasite treatments. He currently eats dry kibble twice a day, though he does have some tear stains that may benefit from a switch to hypoallergenic kibble.

Ideal Home: Rain is a lovable, affectionate boy who thrives on human companionship. His ideal home would be with a family where someone is home most of the time—whether that’s someone working from home or retired, who can dedicate plenty of time to him. Smart and eager to learn, Rain may be inexperienced with leash walks, but a patient family willing to help him grow and adapt will be a perfect match for this sweet and energetic Maltese.
